Christmas Cookies

Dough
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
3 Eggs
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
1 1/2 Tsp. B. Soda
3 Tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 Cup Oleo
6 Tbs. Milk
1 1/2 Tbs. B. Powder
6 Cups Flour

Filling
1 Lb. Figs
1 Lb. Raisins
3 Cups Nuts
4 Orange Rinds
1 Glass of Jelly 6–8 Oz. |
Soak raisins, figs, and orange rinds in water overnight.
Drain and press water out.
Grind raisins, figs, orange rinds and nuts.
Mix ground mixture with jelly.
Mix dough, roll and cut into 4" squares.
Place filling on dough and roll into logs.
Bake at 350 degrees. Yield: 6 Dozen.
Frost with your favorite icing and colors. |
