Dream Whip Pie

8 ounce package (brick) Cream Cheese (any brand)
1 cup powdered sugar
8 ounce container of frozen non-dairy (thawed) whipped topping (any brand)
1 pre-baked 8-9" pie crust (homemade is best)
Let frozen whipped topping and cream cheese soften at room temperature.
Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl with a spoon.
Mix topping and cream cheese/powdered sugar mixture together with an electric mixer set at a low speed.
Place in a pre-baked pie crust.
Chill in refrigerator an hour or two.
Cover mixture with cherry pie filling or your choice of berry fruit filling.
Chill until ready to serve.
Note: Do not freeze the cream cheese before use.
For some reason, if you freeze the cream cheese,
the mixture will not firm up after chilling.
