Cream Cheese Wedding Cookies


1 cup shortening (Margarine or Butter)
1  8-ounce cream cheese
1  tsp. vanilla
1  egg yolk
1  cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour

At room temperature, mix ingredients in order given.
Add flour gradually.
Roll into balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
     I used a 1 tablespoon cookie dough scoop
     and didn't roll into balls, just a full level scoop.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until the bottom is to your desired color.
     The tops of the cookies are a little pale.
Frost with a powered sugar frosting, using your desired colors or flavors.

Yield: Approximately 5 1/2 Dozen
