Butter Balls

1 Cup butter (a good quality margarine is fine) Softened
2 Cups flour
4 tbs confectioner’s (powdered) sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 Cup finely chopped nuts
Yield: 3 Dozen
Cream butter (margarine)
Mix powered sugar and vanilla with creamed butter
Mix flour with butter mixture
Add nuts and mix
Roll into small balls (about 3/4").
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Roll in confectioner’s (powdered) sugar while still warm.
A small brown paper bag works well for this step, only roll 4 or 5 at a time.
I use a 1 tablespoon scoop for the dough, prior to rolling into balls.
DO NOT make a double batch!
Make multiple single batches for the best result. |
